The 2 Curses Of Attraction

One good-looking dog!

Looks, as we all well know, are skin deep. The skin is thin… 2 to 3 millimeters… that’s 0.1 inches. Sure, there are other features involved in forming our impression, but the first glance is enormous in determining attraction in the world we live in.

Some of you may be wondering what in the tarnation I’m talking about… The Curse Of Being Attractive. Many have said, “If only I was better looking…”

Attraction… and particularly being attractive to others… can be a blessing and a curse. Consider these two scenario’s…

Geology LITE: Queen Conch-servation

When I was a little boy we used to visit the beach every summer (we lived in Pennsylvania at the time). I remember one year we brought home a souvenir… a big conch shell. I loved listening to the voice of the ocean that whispered to me from the inside of the conch. I also had a really hard time imagining this critter that occupied the shell… to me it seemed really creepy!

Some say that all good things must come to an end… for many of us, that may be our Conch.  If you’ve ever had Conch Salad or Conch Fritters you know what this feeding frenzy is all about. When prepared right, they are quite tasty. So much so, this slug has been nearly eaten to extinction… they’re considered an endangered species here in Florida.

Leadership: The Moses – Joshua Connection

Today I’m writing at Allen Madding’s blog… it’s a piece called “Leadership: the Moses – Joshua Connection.” I believe this may be the most inspiring lesson in the history of mankind regarding leadership. Please follow this link to read today’s post!

Allen is a follower of Jesus and writes about his passions at Harley In The City. I’m guessing it’s pretty obvious that Allen enjoys riding a Harley (ha!), he’s also a guitar strummer, computer geek, hiker and traveler, and the Director at Feed the Hungry Forsyth, Inc., a non-profit located in Forsyth, Georgia.

Bonus: In our early e-mail communications Allen used the Dude word… that’s when I knew we were on the same page. Right On Dude :-)

What I Learned About Unconditional Love From My Man Gump

I love Forrest yes I do. Yep, unconditionally too. I’ve written about him before (just a couple of times). Now Forrest was not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he knew a few things… most importantly, Forrest knew unconditional love.

God’s perfect example of unconditional love was Jesus… he came for us and lived the perfect life, dying for our sins… we can’t earn it and don’t deserve it but got it anyway. God gave us Jesus… and then they gave us Gump.

Unconditional love… loving without any agenda. That means I’m going to put you first.

4 Steps To Bringing Out The Best In Others

Stay in tune with a positive vibe!

Whenever I think about the people who are close to me I want to not only try to surround myself with good people, I also strive to bring out the best in others. This, to me, seems to go right along with love your neighbor as yourself.

How do I go about doing this?

How Writing A Book Proposal Will Help You Develop Your Book Project

“Everyone has at least one book in them” – CV

Yes, I’ll say it again (lol… like Andy Stanley)… everyone has at least one book in them.

I have the nuts and bolts of at least four book ideas, including an e-book that I’m targeting to give away on my blog in August. It doesn’t really matter if you have 1 or 4 or more, the point I’m trying to make is that anyone can write and publish a book today. Self-publishing has really opened this up. If you are passionate about writing I would encourage you to go for it!

This post is just a collection of thoughts that I wanted to share that may help you along the way…
