Last night I said a prayer for 2020. It may not be what you think!
Granted, this is new year’s day in the year 2020. So one would naturally consider this post to be about prosperity or health or the like. I guess once you read on, that may be your takeaway. But I was digging in a little deeper.
I was thinking about 20/20 vision! 20/20 vision is a term used to express normal visual acuity (the clarity or sharpness of vision) measured at a distance of 20 feet. If you have 20/20 vision, you can see clearly at 20 feet what should typically be seen at that distance. If you have 20/100 vision, it means that you must be as close as 20 feet to see what a person with normal vision can see at 100 feet.
Having 20/20 vision does not necessarily mean you have perfect eyesight. There are other attributes to ideal vision.
For the sake of my prayer, I want to focus on clarity.
I don’t have 20/20 vision. And, well, sometimes I can be a pretty dumb guy! So often, I need to seek some wisdom. Give me a little insight or discernment, and I’m good to go!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will set your path straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
So that is the gist of my prayer. Give me clear vision, O Lord, that I may stay on the narrow pathway that you are guiding me to.
I need to focus on this! Seeing things more clearly this year. That’s my prayer for 2020.
