It’s a well established fact that Jesus went commando when He did battle with the devil for 40 days in the desert. Relentlessly pestered by the odious, evil one, Jesus casually and repeatedly stiff-armed the devil’s futile advances…
for Jesus had this going for Him:
- If God is with us, who can be against us!
and
- the power of Go Commando!
So guess what I found tucked away in the Gospel?
Jesus’ instructions to His apostles in Mark Chapter 6, “And He called to Him the Twelve [apostles] and began to send them out [as His ambassadors] two by two and gave them authority and power over the unclean spirits. He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a walking stick – no bread, no wallet for a collection bag, no money in their belts (girdles, purses) – But to go with sandals on their feet and not to put on two tunics (undergarments).” (The Amplified Bible Version, verses 7-9, italics added for emphasis)
He bestowed upon the 12 the power!
