Do you know who the original Go Commandos were? This one is a slam dunk, no brainer…
Adam & Eve, of course!
We can add them to the list… in addition to Jesus and The 12 that I’ve written about previously, Adam & Eve also knew how to Go Commando.
Going back to the beginning…
so they initially ran around naked as a jay bird. They were not embarrassed. It was all good…
then, everything changed…
the fall of mankind…
and they donned a tunic (outercoat) that the Lord made for them…
the King James Version… “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord make coats of skins, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21.
And since fruit of the loom was NOT mentioned…
A&E were the original Go Commando’s!!
While I’m saddened about the fall of man, it may be a good thing we’re all wearing clothes now. I know, this is a skin-deep point of view that I need to work on… but there are some benefits to clothes that I can also consider:
- Clothes can be a form of personal expression, or style.
- Seeing a bunch of other people naked is one less issue for me to face in  the grocery store
- The car seat can get scorching hot in the summertime.
The community-building question: Are there any other benefits of wearing clothes that you can come up with?
In the mean time, I’ll keep scouring my Bible for the next Go Commando…
Benefit of clothing for us hormonally-deprived women = something with which to sop up the sweat.
Benefit of clothing for everyone over 50 = something to hold everything in place.
I totally love that God made A & E clothing before kicking them out. What a provider.
that’s a good point Carol, about God being the provider, in so many ways throughout the Old Testament He keeps on providing for us. You also got my attention with approaching 50… yikes!
