I’m certain that when He went into the desert for 40 days, fasted, and did battle with the devil, that Jesus went Commando.
God sent Him there just after telling Him “this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.†Matthew 3:17
Immediately thereafter, the Spirit lead Him into the desert… and He fought off the devil.
So I’m thinkin’ why can’t we Go Commando? It seems like sometimes we get hung up on “bad things†that really aren’t that bad at all! I’m not seeing where going Commando is a bad thing. I posted on my Facebook wall last evening that today is the unofficial “Go Commando†day. It was too much info for CDD. I’ll betcha she’s going Commando today. If you’re not already going Commando today it’s not too late. I double-dog dare you. Unless you’re wearing something that’s too sheer. We need to use discretion to Go Commando. btw, the Go Commando I’m taking about is sans undies.
Doing battle with the devil is hard work. Jesus went Commando. I’m thinkin’ we need to as well. If you don’t want to broadcast it that’s your choice. I’m going Commando. Shhh, don’t tell anyone.
What do you think about going Commando?
I was going to post and ask you if you indeed went commando today. I did not, but not because I think there’s anything wrong with it; let’s just say I’ll need a raincheck for next week.
On another note, I think in general the “church” gets way too hung up on what’s good and what’s bad or what we should or should not do. Why so many rules? Like you said, I’m pretty sure Jesus went commando, probably ever day of His life. I made a post on another site a few years ago about Jesus’ appearance – wondering what He looked like. You wouldn’t believe how upset some people got at the thought that Jesus didn’t look like a buttoned up Christian-type. Personally, I think He didn’t get to bathe a lot and probably had long hair, maybe even dreads. Does it really matter? Does His appearance make Him less God? If you go without underwear does it make you less of a Christian? How about if you swear every now and then? Don’t go to church on a regular basis? Of course, the list could go on and on.
And I’m getting wordy again, so I’ll stop! Go Commando Chris and enjoy!!!
Jesus said: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the Propets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40.
i.e., if we just do these two things all the rest falls into place. Focusing on the positive and doing all we can to show our love for God and others.
