Holy Week 2012 was amazing. It left me feeling really warm inside. “Best Ever” sounds redundant when I say it every holiday. My family is growing… there is love… yep, just love…
I think of the impact from Holy Week and the event that we celebrate as Easter… the significance and gift of the resurrection… some of the afterglow that lives within us has an impact every day, and every single week of the year. To me, it’s coming to the table every day… bringing something good… working the right angle…Â getting really sticky about it.
The disciples went out after Jesus rose from the dead and shared the good news. They were excited. This was based on a true event in history. There were witnesses. The word spread like wildfire and still does 2,000 years later. This story of a wandering carpenter who healed people with his bare hands… who spoke the truth in love… the one who lived the perfect life… and who died a horrid death nailed to a cross… he died for us… for all of us.
Shouldn’t we be living for him?
What’s Next?
The Other 51…
I think it’s hard to keep in mind that Jesus rose from the dead for everyday, not just Easter Sunday. The challenge of living for him is quite a challenge, but so worth it. Great reminder that just because Easter is over, doesn’t mean Jesus asks anything less from us, He still wants a relationship.
He did so much for me that I want to live for him every single day Seth, indeed, our relationship with him is the most important!
We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus everyday. Easter sunday at our church is no different than the other 51 sundays a year…we still sing and preach the risen Christ and his Glory!
Amen 🙂
Once for all–all people, all sins, all time. Jesus used the past tense in the “it is done” sense. “It is finished.” But that past, completed action continues on throughout time: Jesus saved, is saving, will continue to save…
Yes, only a writer would think about Jesus in terms of grammar…
Thank you for this post, Chris.
Bravo on the sense of tense!
