Believe.
It’s one word that defines our faith.
It’s the biggest word in possibly the most important verse in all of the Gospel…
“For God so loved that world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16.
Believe.
I think it’s the biggest word in the Bible.
It’s the foundation for laying out our trust and confidence in our Lord and Savior.
It defines our understanding of and capacity to love.
It defines everything.
Believe.
That’s my one word for 2012.
I want to learn and know more.
That’s my focus.
What’s your focus for 2012?
It’s hard to distill into one word (something i struggle with anyway!) but overall, it’s be “better” a better wife, better mom, better writer. Most of all, it’s to be better friends with Jesus.
lol… I think you’ve gotten way better at mixing up the shorter posts with the longer ones Christine 🙂
Thanks!!! Glad to know the effort is paying off. I just drafted one for Monday that’s 850 words. Now I need to split it up into two and still edit some more!
That’s a pretty good word to focus on. Our part is to believe; God will give us whatever evidence He thinks we need.
Love the “One Word in 2012” site, and especially your choice in “believe” as your word, Chris. You can’t really go wrong with that one.
I’m headed off to enlist my word for 2012…”Passion”.
Hard to go fail when that word is part of my daily practices.
Passion…ate about the Dave Ramsey FPU and thankful for your relevant blog Scott, thanks!!
One word? Hmmm. Ok, I’ll pick one that is writing related. Since I like code names for things like software projects (or even military operations) and words with multiple meanings, I’ll use the word “trinity”. Basically, I’m going to attempt to put three more books out on the literary “battlefield” this year. If I can’t get any traction with six books out there, I’m going to take a break. A very long break. 🙂
Good one Michael !!
trinity2 = me + u since I’m onboard with the 3 books this year as well.
Chris, great post! I love the word you choose. I wasn’t sure if I should do this, so I waited for a word from the Lord. I didn’t want to choose it. I actually got four words. Post coming up soon. I think yours tops the list! Blessings to you!
thanks Lynn, looking forward to reading yours!
Such a powerful word. Anything great starts with believe.
Amen 🙂
