Today I’m a guest at Carol Peterson’s blog, From Carol’s Quill.

Nehemiah was a man of action. He was outstanding at organizing others and at inspiration. He held a prominent position in the government of Persia. However, that position wasn’t his calling. This idea of “calling” is key in our society today and I believe is very important in how we will be remembered in the history of Christianity. The story of Nehemiah is as relevant today as it was at the time it was written. How do we find our calling? Calling is found through a relationship with the Holy Spirit, and it begins with self-awareness (Click To Tweet). Please follow this link over to Carol’s blog and read the story of Nehemiah and how he found his calling. Don’t want to be the leader? Lead, follow, or just step out of the way. Either way it’s time to pony up and ride. It’s all about courage, and identifying then following God’s calling.

The post The God-Honoring Courage And Calling Of Nehemiah first appeared on I'm Just Thinkin'.

The post The God-Honoring Courage And Calling Of Nehemiah appeared first on I'm Just Thinkin'.

I read more definitions of Valor… boldness in facing great danger was a memorable one…

boldness…

for a good, worthy cause…

So I saw the movie Act of Valor this weekend. I really liked it.

Near the end of the movie an inspiring quotation was voiced…

it comes from Tecumseh, a Native American warrior and hero…

“So live your life so the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their views, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a stranger if in a lonely place. Show respect to all people, but grovel to none. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself. Touch not the poisonous firewater that makes wise ones turn to fools and robs them of their visions. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.”

When I heard it I had to read it…

when I read it I wanted more…

the words rang in my ears… live… life… heart… respect… love… service… give… give thanks… light… strength… joy…

going home…

Valor… inspired to more goodness!

Do you enjoy going to the movies? Any good ones that you’ve seen recently?

The post Valor… Courage In Defense Of A Noble Cause first appeared on I'm Just Thinkin'.

The post Valor… Courage In Defense Of A Noble Cause appeared first on I'm Just Thinkin'.
