I think far too few people are genuine but I don’t think they mean to be this way. I think we just live in a society full of peer pressure and people can be scared to be themselves.

One thing that helps me when I start feeling annoyed with others is to say to myself: “Everyone is just doing the best they can.”

It’s an offshoot of your first point. It’s assuming the best about other people rather than the worst. It helps me. A LOT!
