What’s your best day ever?

Investing topic that came up recently with a few friends. They rattled it off without hesitation. I had to think about it a bit…

If you’re a frequent reader, you know that I love making memories. I call them “keepers” – those special moments in time that bring us great joy to think about.

Joy is so uplifting…

Looking For Ways To Say Yes… And When We Have To Say No

Tags :

Yes… No… and let’s not even throw in the good ole’ “maybe”

Are you a yes person? Do you have a hard time saying no to people when they ask you to help them, like maybe for a favor or for something that would require a commitment of your time? Maybe think of this decision as an investment, of sorts, in them (vs. you).

I have a really hard time telling people no. I feel guilty, and always seem to feel like I’m letting them down. I have even found myself overcommitted at times trying to please people when I should be focused on that which is most important. Yikes!

In many ways, I’m generally looking for ways to say yes. That’s most often a no brainer. Sometimes, though, I have to weigh this decision with saying no. So how do I know which way to go?

#52: Thankful It’s A Keeper

Tags :

All I can say is wow, what a year!

Everyone writes inspiration this time of year, a time of reflection. I try to come up with inspiration once a week.

As I thought about what inspiration to write this week I came up with just one thought:

Today I’m thankful for my readers. The people who stop by with encouragement and leave thoughtful comments. The people who stop by and just read, finding something that helps change their day in a positive way. The people who are genuinely helpful and who share a glowing thank you. The people who give a warm smile at church, on the street, at the gym, or wherever else we happen to meet.

Something inspirational for this week?

How about simply two words:

Thank. You.

I appreciate your continued support of my writing.

Or maybe in just one word…

Today I’m thankful. I’m thankful for #52. Let’s make #52 a keeper… filled with peace, joy, hope and love.

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.

For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.” Psalm 95:1-7

What do you have to be thankful for today?

The Downhill Slide

Tags :

The downhill slide looks like lots of fun!

I’m taking a brief break here at I’m Just Thinkin’ to spend more time with my family, get caught up on some other commitments and refresh. I’ll be back next week with more of God’s goodness.

Until then…

The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:28-33

I hope and pray that you will have the most incredible Christmas ever, and that God will shower you with joy, peace and love like never before.

TTFN… and Be Great 🙂
