Sparking. Spotless. Shiny. Spick and Span. Shimmering. Squeaky Clean. Yepper, it’s Immaculate… and it just feels good!
So I’ve been away for a while and haven’t been cooking. Therefore, not a whole lot to write about in the food category. It seems like usually when we’re away we don’t eat food that is as good for us compared to when we’re at home. I know that’s true for me. It’s just hard to know exactly what’s going into those yummy dishes that are prepared for us when we’re eating out. I had lunch at a restaurant last week one day and noticed on the menu the symbol for healthy choices… unfortunately, the symbol was not used anywhere else on the menu. I’m thinkin’ that must mean everything you could order at this place was bad for you. I ate there anyway. It was good. Errr, it tasted good. Likewise, when we’re visiting with friends and relatives. They all cook differently. And I’m not a very picky eater.
I guess I could tell you the story about the time I was eating salmon right out of the stream with the wild bear in the wilderness of Alaska. It was ridiculous. And you would be guessing correctly that I’m JUST KIDDING
However, it did get me to the subject of fishing…
… and back to Matthew Chapter 4, verses 18 through 22…
… about the 4 fishermen who follow Jesus. “Come follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” And so they did, immediately leaving their nets to follow Him. And to lead others to Christ. Ordinary fishermen who became fishers of men. Being spiritually productive to help others find God. It’s just like a clean stove… it feels good!
So the question: What do you think of a clean stove? Fishing with the bears? Or being a fisher of men?
